Every year, Rds gives young people the opportunity to gain a 41,000-dollar grant, attend business courses at the Santa Clara Unviersity and set off for a traineeship at an American start-up. Participants are also given the opportunity to meet the community of venture capitalists and angel investors. On their way, winners will be helped by Rds in setting up the start-up business.

Eduardo Montefusco is President and owner since 1981 of RDS which is now in Italy one of the country’s main networks. RDS started as one of the first 7000 local radio stations founded in the 80’s and gradually extended its coverage from Rome to the rest of Italy. Born in Naples on the 9th of August 1953 Eduardo Montefusco can be considered nowadays a real mentor of the Italian radio history. Apart his numerous awards and nominations as President of RNA, the Italian Radio association, he gave important contributes granting the approval of specific laws that created advantages for the whole sector.
NEW BUSINESS MODELS
After he was ordered “Cavaliere del Lavoro” in 2012, he is now well known as the “Digital Cavalier” as he boosts all kind of innovative forms of radio diffusion and research such as new digital network systems. Chairman and organizer of the International Conference “Thirty Years of Private Radio: Thirty years of freedom and business for citizens.” Speaker at the International Conference on “Digital Entertainment” on the role of digital technologies, strategies and new business models.
“GLOCAL” INNOVATION AND COMMUNICATION
Locally, the “RDS Building” in Rome can be considered a real example of evolutionary process, it is a masterpiece of environmental friendly engineering and architecture, a technological hub for music production. An auditorium for famous artists coming from all over the world which can be used for concerts, showcase presentations and conferences as well. Globally, we can find commercial offices in important centers such as Milan, Miami and Rome developing a project of audio-visual productions, research at an international level.
PRODUCTIVITY AND PHILANTROPY
Mr. Montefusco always believed in ethical behavior for both private life and enterprise. His business model is based on a satisfied team by making work the best place possible to stay. Everyone who works for RDS feels like being part of a big family and of major project, of a common vision promoted and conducted with firmness, believe and great sense of responsibility by its chairman. Successful teamwork, best practice and innovation are encouraged and priced. For RDS President, human resources, constant innovation and improvement play a leading role in success.
This belief brought him to take part since 2014, thanks to the cooperation with “Fulbright”, in a beautiful project which gives every year the chance to unknown young bright minds to realize their dream.
During the international conference “ Italy for growth in the USA: the Best scholarship case & Usa opportunities” held in Rds roman headquarters, was explained as best startup ideas for radio networks, music and events get selected, financed and accelerated by the “RDS foundation” by beginning with the price of a scholarship of 41000 dollars at Santa Clara’s University. “Excellence at a technical level is not enough”, says Eduardo Montefusco, “bright minds” and personal or team merit have always to be encouraged to ensure a continuous win-win process to enterprises.
Last but not least, thanks to his network, Eduardo Montefusco supported many social utility Radio campaigns for national and international non-profit organizations such as: Operation smile, Save the Children, Sugar, Telethon, UNICEF, WWF, Umberto Veronesi’s “Foundation for the Advancement of Science”…
Believing in philanthropy, he supported “Save the Children” with personal donations to ensure access to first aid and education for poorest and most vulnerable around the world. Committed in several campaigns from Health to environmental consciousness, from solidarity to the poorest to the raising of climate consciousness in public opinion. He supported the construction of family houses in Italy and Africa, helped building schools and, firmly believing that everyone may have a gold mine in his head, he conducted campaigns against drugs such as “Do not kill your brain!”.

In one of RDS’ studios, a makeshift yet armed kidnapper breaks in, on air, with a hostage and starts to talk about himself as he desperately longs to speak with his girlfriend. Danilo, 30, whose only dream is to become a film director, will start from the backstage of the film “Natale col Boss” (“Christmas with the Boss”) and end up losing his girlfriend and questioning every certainty to ultimately revolutionize his inevitable destiny as an INTERN.

GT Academy is a contest that matches both real and virtual, allowing the best players of Gran Turismo to compete for the unique chance of turning into true professional drivers.
